Communication Skills

Communication skills make your intelligence worthwhile. Our amazing abilities to think would be useless if we could not get our thoughts out of our brains and into the world. When our great, great ancestors spoke their first words and drew their first line, they stepped beyond what any other animal on this planet has done. Our ability to communicate so effectively meant that we could communicate what we had learnt and everyone could quickly benefit from each other's thought processes. It raised humans to the top of the animal kingdom.

If you are able to come up with extraordinary insights, theories and ideas but unable to communicate them to the world, those insights become useless. They will be stuck inside your head without any practical use. Getting your ideas out into the world makes all your hard work worthwhile. Your thoughts will begin to grow in the real world. People will use your ideas, develop them, and debate them. They will develop a life of their own and they may even outlive you.

Good communication skills are the final link in your intelligence.
